Road to Oscar, finally we’re in

85 oscar

This Sunday my country, Italy, will get to vote. A comic actor might be our next prime minister and no, this is not a Hollywood movie, that’s the sad reality!  No, this is not ant italian comedy. This is not a grotesque Fellini movie, Italy might have a comic actor as his prime minister. Well, the sad choice is between a comic actor, or the same old right-wing and left-wing mummies that led Italy to near bankrupt and to total devastation of italian economy. A sad and hard choice.

Soryr for this political introduction, but that’s why I’m late with my final Oscar post. Let’s go back to the Academy Awards, that to me are more interesting than an election dominated by rage, frustration and depression.

This is the last post on the road toward uncle Oscar. Last week the Writer’s Guild awarded “Zero Dark Thirty” as Best Original Screenplay and “Argo” as “Best Adapted Screenplay”. Let’s see the final update, I will personally “call” the races indicating my personal prediction of winner in the top categories

This is the end of our Road to Oscar. Unfortunately my final post is somewhat laconic, but I’m now working at the electoral office and so this week is very busy for me :(

I’ve enjoyed covering the award season, but I hope covering it better next year. I wish a good Oscar night to all and thanks for reading and enoyng my posts.

A special thanks to our host, who accepted my proposal and gently hosted me for this weeks :D

And the winner is… :D

  1. numerous browser crashes have prevented me from posting sooner, AOL often has trouble with one of my current fave blogs ;( or maybe it’s my computer. Anyway I have enjoyed this Oscar series, some surprises and some not, and I am happiest that “Searching for Sugar Man” won for Best Documentary!!
    Thanks Johnny and Lebeau.
