This Sunday my country, Italy, will get to vote. A comic actor might be our next prime minister and no, this is not a Hollywood movie, that’s the sad reality! No, this is not ant italian comedy. This is not a grotesque Fellini movie, Italy might have a comic actor as his prime minister. Well, the sad choice is between a comic actor, or the same old right-wing and left-wing mummies that led Italy to near bankrupt and to total devastation of italian economy. A sad and hard choice.
Soryr for this political introduction, but that’s why I’m late with my final Oscar post. Let’s go back to the Academy Awards, that to me are more interesting than an election dominated by rage, frustration and depression.
This is the last post on the road toward uncle Oscar. Last week the Writer’s Guild awarded “Zero Dark Thirty” as Best Original Screenplay and “Argo” as “Best Adapted Screenplay”. Let’s see the final update, I will personally “call” the races indicating my personal prediction of winner in the top categories

This is the end of our Road to Oscar. Unfortunately my final post is somewhat laconic, but I’m now working at the electoral office and so this week is very busy for me 🙁
I’ve enjoyed covering the award season, but I hope covering it better next year. I wish a good Oscar night to all and thanks for reading and enoyng my posts.
A special thanks to our host, who accepted my proposal and gently hosted me for this weeks 😀
And the winner is… 😀
numerous browser crashes have prevented me from posting sooner, AOL often has trouble with one of my current fave blogs ;( or maybe it’s my computer. Anyway I have enjoyed this Oscar series, some surprises and some not, and I am happiest that “Searching for Sugar Man” won for Best Documentary!!
Thanks Johnny and Lebeau.
Welcome back! Glad you were able to post.
I think I may be a day (a year, actually) late and a dollar (lots, actually, thanks to the same-as-last-year economy) short… in THIS particular discussion of yours within (my NEW FAVORITE blog spot extraordinaire)! You see, I can’t seem to find a jumping-in platform for my personal ongoing query regarding our friend Oscar, who seemingly loves to snub the oft taken-for-granted actor, make that superstar: Leo DiCaprio. Surely there is a page devoted to this very topic within your highly informative and highly entertaining forum?! Look at me — I began reading about Debra Winger FIVE HOURS AGO and… Read more »
I’m glad you found us, Sherrie. Welcome to our little party. I think we have the best readers in all the internet. I recently updated that Debra Winger article and I’m quite happy with it. My goal for the site has always been that once a reader finds us, they will want to go back and read more. Five hours! I’m thrilled. I don’t put a whole lot of stock in Oscars. They are fun to discuss, but at the end of the day I don’t think they mean all that much. I have no doubt DiCaprio will have his… Read more »
IKR? Oscar is obviously “gold” with envy 😉
Thanks again, I really appreciate the warm welcome! Had fun checking out your entire, seemingly endless list of actors; I’m thrilled over just how many there are whom I’ve “been meaning to catch up with”! Definitely lovin’ the convos attached to each. Quite diverse. Oh, lastly… I’m still blown away upon discovering that whole “Emmett (as himself)” deal at the end of Made in Heaven. Whoa. Just whoa. Perhaps that’s her real persona (would ‘splain a lot)…
