Digital Nonsense: LeBlog’s New Podcast!

Join Lebeau and Daffy Stardust as they reboot LeBlog’s podcast in a new format! Each month the pair plans to look back at and look forward to some of the pop culture of the previous and coming months. This will typically include discussions of superheroes in a variety of media, Disney topics, the Oscars, and a “potpourri” section which allows them to talk about whatever the heck they want to! This time that means Star Wars in advance of this month’s release of The Last Jedi.

If you don’t want to sit through an hour plus of these numbskulls with faces for radio, you can use our handy-dandy time reference below and skip forward to the topics that most interest you! Hope you enjoy it!

Superheroes- 4:50

Disney- 19:46

Potpourri (Star Wars)- 33:35

Oscars- 59:10

Le Show: Robots – Episode Two

robots 2

This month, Daffy and I discuss movie robots.  Some want to help us.  Others want to enslave humanity.  Some want to be human.  Others want to use us to power their cities.  In our second robot-themed episode, we talk about lovable animated robots like Baymax, Wall-E and the Iron Giant.  We also delve into villainous robots like Maximilian and the Terminator.  Plus Mecha Godzilla and the one scene in Superman III that still keeps us up at night.

Le Show: Robots – Episode One

movie robots

This month, Daffy and I discuss movie robots.  Some want to help us.  Others want to enslave humanity.  Some want to be human.  Others want to use us to power their cities.  We run through the good, the bad and the robotic.  Daffy provides the history of the word “robot” as well as an explanation of what the heck Mr Roboto was all about.  We also talk about why a robot can be a writer’s best friend and why R2-D2 shouldn’t fly.

We’re sticking with the short format we started last month for the Oscars.  So you can look forward to a follow-up episode later this week.

Le Show: Best Picture

Best Picture

Daffy and I are back with new episodes of our podcast, Le Show. As we did last year, we’re tackling the Academy Awards. Rather than ramble on for an hour about all the major categories, we decided to split things up. So instead of one long show, we’ve been putting out several shorter installments. In this fifth episode, we run through this year’s eight Best Picture nominees, who we think will win and who we think should win.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Episode 010: Daffy and Lebeau’s Christmas Spectacular

Christmas Episode Cover

Today, believe it or not, is Christmas Eve.  December just flew by, didn’t it?  Doesn’t it always?  I had hoped to have this episode posted back when we were still running the Christmas Movie Bracket Game.  But you know how things get leading up to the holidays.  If you don’t, well, they get crazy.  So after several delays, it is my pleasure to present Daffy and my Christmas episode in which we discus our favorite Christmas music, movies and TV specials.

I don’t know that I can do this episode justice.  It gets weird fast.  Hope you like it.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Bonus Episode: Terminator Genisys Trailer

Terminator Trailer

When Daffy and I reviewed Interstellar last weekend, Stoil asked if we would share our thoughts on the Terminator Genisys trailer.  Neither of us had actually watched the trailer.  But since we aim to please, we checked it out.  And boy, it sure was something!  Daffy and I took about ten minutes to discuss the sequel that basically resets the Terminator series.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Interstellar Review

interstellar

Daffy and I both caught Christopher Nolan’s sci-fi epic, Interstellar this morning.  So we decided to try something new.  We set out to do a 10-minute episode of Le Show to review the movie.  Instead, we ended up talking about Interstellar for 35 minutes.  The first fifteen minutes is spoiler-free, so feel free to listen even if you haven’t seen the movie.  We give you a warning before we start talking about the ending.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Episode 009 – He’s Chevy Chase and We’re Not

Episode 009

We’re dedicating an entire show to the first breakout star of Saturday Night Live, Chevy Chase.  Why?  I really don’t know.  It seemed like a good idea at the time.  We cover all three of Chase’s good movies and at least a third of his terrible ones.  This episode has it all; cute dogs, little people and Princess Leia in her underwear.  Daffy and I discuss why Billy Murray and Chevy Chase aren’t friends and why Chase probably won’t be appearing in any Marvel movies any time soon.  Find out why Chase isn’t in Animal House and why Daffy believes the movie is over-rated anyway.  We also name at least a handful of the many, many people Chase has offended over the years.  It’s a podcast and a dessert topping!

The show is embedded after the jump.  Hope you like it.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Episode 008 – Time Travel

Time Travel

A while back Daffy and I were approached by Dan of Annie and Danny’s FastPass Podcast to do a show on time travel movies.  Since coming up with topics is hard, Daffy and I decided to steal Dan’s idea  take him up on his offer.  We were finally able to master time enough to line up all three of our schedules to talk time travel.  So Dan becomes our first-ever guest star here on Le Show.

But it wasn’t just Dan joining us this time.  We also took feedback from the wonderful readers here at Le Blog.  About a week before we recorded, I posted a survey asking you guys what you wanted to hear about in a time travel show.  The response was overwhelming.  So we’ll probably continue to seek your input for future podcasts.  For this episode, we had you guys rank eight time travel comedies and eight action/adventure movies.

We’re obviously going to cover the classics like Back to the Future and The Terminator.  But Daffy dives deep with some scholarly research.  We also look at the indie comedy, Safety Not Guaranteed and everyone wishes they had found the time to watch Primer.  Special guest time travel expert Dan disses Star Trek and praise Jean-Claude Van Damme.  And we all talk about what we would do if we could travel through time.

The show is embedded after the jump.  Hope you like it.
