Disneyland Bingo with Daffystardust! Video

What’s this, you say? Didn’t you go to Disneyland more than a year ago?

Well, yes you’re right about that, so in a way this video is sorely behind schedule isn’t it? Well, the whole point here is for me to teach myself how to use the iMovie program on my computer so that I can make even more videos in the future to share here at LeBlog. Heck , I’ve got a return trip to Walt Disney World in Florida coming up the first weekend of October and I’m really hoping to shoot a bunch more video on that trip than I ever have before, which would make any resulting composition I’d present here even more dynamic than what I was able to put together to show you today. The above video is just my second attempt, after a seven minute jaunt focusing only on my dog whetted my appetite to give this a try.

If you’re new to the blog and you’re reading this, welcome! Everyone who wishes to can go ahead and grab the Disneyland Bingo card I created just below the break. It is up to date and should be fully possible to accomplish if you attend the California Disney parks anytime soon.

Updated Disneyland Bingo Card!

Screen Shot 2016-08-19 at 6.45.21 PM

Since I found that two of the tasks on my Disneyland Bingo card were not possible to accomplish while I was on my trip, I have replaced those tasks with new ones that will hopefully be both fun and possible. If you’re keeping score at home, “Dinosaur Eggs in Tomorrowland” has been replaced with “See World of Color,” and “Echo Spot in Tomorrowland” has been replaced with “Ride a Red Car.” Both replacement tasks are indeed things that I did while I was in Anaheim. As one reader has pointed out, a high percentage of these tasks are specific to the original Disneyland park. Eleven of them are possible to complete outside of that park, but there are now three that absolutely must be done somewhere else. If you decide to try this out, feel free to report back on your experience and be sure to have fun!

Disneyland with Daffystardust! (Part three)

The final day of my trip to Disney’s California theme parks was here, and there were some things I had to experience that had not fit in to my first day at California Adventure or second day in Disneyland proper. This third day had not been assigned a touring plan prior to departing for the trip because I felt like I wanted to make it a day for finishing up what we had not succeeded in doing on the previous two days and repeating attractions we had particularly loved. I also had a few more squares on my Disneyland Bingo card to “X” out. That is precisely how we approached this day, with a touring plan quickly conceived based on input from everyone involved.

Disneyland with Daffystardust! (Part Two)

After spending most of our first full day in Anaheim in Disney’s California Adventure, day 2 was earmarked for a full-out assault on Walt’s original park, Disneyland! Having seen the crazy crowds from the night before, I was braced for extraordinarily long lines and some mildly claustrophobic conditions, but I was definitely excited about spending significant time in Disneyland for the first time since I was in preschool.

Disneyland with Daffystardust! (Part One)

As you might have figured out based on LeBlog’s content over the last month, I returned to Disneyland in Anaheim California for the first time in 40 years last week. The memories of a five year old are an inconsistent thing. Some are vivid while others are hazy. Some are like still photographs while others are like gifs from our early lives. Scale is often an issue. When I visited my elementary school several years after my last day there as a student I was a little curious to know why they had lowered the coat hooks. So I was looking forward to matching the few childhood memories I’d held of Disneyland with what I was going to see as a middle-aged adult who had seen lots of other great stuff in the interim.

Disneyland Bingo Deluxe!

Screen Shot 2015-06-20 at 6.58.49 PM

Lebeau and some of you readers came up with the idea of assembling a set of challenges for good ‘ol Daffystardust while I’m at Disneyland in Anaheim with some of my family. The first challenge introduced was for me to sing “Everybody Wants to be a Cat” to a cat there in the park. Since Disneyland actually hosts feral cats that clear out any rodent population at night I just might come across a real cat, but if not, I’ll try to find some less natural version to warble at. Carl suggested that I find the entrance to the private Club 33, so that made the list. The rest of the form Lebeau provided was based on some random person’s own try at this game and was frankly a little boring…so I developed the remaining challenges on my own, with an emphasis on the very unique sights and experiences there in southern California’s Disney park. Once I’m back from my trip I’ll report back on how much I was able to accomplish!

A Sort of Homecoming: Daffystardust is going to Disneyland!

While readers here at Le Blog have seen me report extensively on visits to the Universal, Busch Gardens, and Walt Disney World theme parks, the first theme park I can remember attending is Walt’s original in Anaheim, California. When I was a kid living in San Diego with my family, the above sign was our cue for excitement because we were finally at Disneyland!

While the sign was changed back in 1989, I am happy to report with similar excitement that after about a 40 year gap, I will be returning to Disneyland with family in June of 2015! There have been a multitude of changes over that time span, in fact, including a whole second park to anticipate.

Disney World Rumors: Carsland Looks Good, Avatar Iffy, Fantasyland Disappoints

DHS-Cars-Land

It’s been a while since I have written anything about Disney World here.  After nearly daily postings leading up to and following our family trip in the fall, I decided to give the Disney stuff a rest.  Not to mention, there really hasn’t been much worth talking about in recent months.

This morning, Al Lutz over at Mice Chat posted an update that was filled with juicy Disney World rumors.  What follows are the WDW-related highlights.  You can read the entire article (which focuses primarily on Disneyland and management changes) here.
