Lebeau’s Le Show: Episode 007 – The Best of Bond

Episode 007 Cover

When I was editing the previous podcast, I got very excited because I realized that our next episode would be our seventh Le Show.  As a James Bond fan, I knew what the topic for episode 007 had to be.  I wasn’t even finished editing episode 6 when I e-mailed Daffy with my idea.  If his response was less enthusiastic than mine, I didn’t care.  I had a pun topic and dammit I was going to use it come hell or high water.

As the name suggests, Daffy and I discus the best (and worst) of the James Bond franchise.  Fifty plus years and 23 official films is a lot to cover, so this is an extra-sized episode.  I also put a little extra polish on this one.  You’ll know what I’m talking about when you listen.  Hopefully these special touches serve as an enhancement rather than a distraction.  If nothing else, it should help break up the sound of two guys droning on and cracking up over silly things.

With that said, there’s all the silliness you have come to expect from Daffy and me.  We reimagine a classic Bond villain as a member of the cast of Friends, Daffy makes me queasy by talking about one of the Golden Girls as a Bond babe and poor Diana Rigg will never wear that catsuit again.  Daffy and I pick our favorite Bond movie from each of the six actors to play the role.  We also discus our favorite Bond villain, Bond girl and Bond song.  Each of us names our least favorite Bond movie and finally selects our favorite of the six Bonds.

The show is embedded after the jump.  Hope you like it.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Episode 006 – Pop Culture References

Episode 006 Cover Image

Everyone makes pop culture references in one way or another every day.  Sometimes, we use an expression or a phrase without even knowing its origins.  Other times, we’re specifically referencing one of our favorite movies or TV shows.  Depending on how well your reference matches your audience, pop culture references can provide a great form of short hand.  They convey complex information in just a few words.  Or they miss their mark entirely and everyone thinks you’re weird.

This week, Daffy and I discuss the power of pop culture references both common and obscure.  Of course we hit the essentials like Caddyshack and Star Wars.  Daffy provides a few musical cues that frankly you just have to hear.  I talk about my co-workers and their weirdly narrow backgrounds in pop culture.  Hopefully none of them are listening.  Daffy talks about how he alienated the cast of his recent theatrical productions with references to Sunset Boulevard and Mommie Dearest.  And he ranks his favorite shelled candies.  It’s a can’t miss hour of fun and excitement!

In the spirit of references, we even reference some of the things we have been talking about here at Le Blog and on Twitter.  One lucky reader even gets name-checked.

The show is embedded after the jump.  Hope you like it.

Lebeau’s Le Show: Episode 005 – Under Or Over Rated

Episode 005 Cover

This month, Daffy and I discus under-rated movies, TV shows and music.  We also call out the entertainment we think is over-rated.  Our choices may ruffle some feathers.  Even Daffy and I can’t see eye to eye on this one.  Our conversation veers from Finding Nemo to Eyes Wide Shut.  We’ve got zombies and orgies and people getting shot in the head.  It just may be the wildest episode we have recorded to date.  By the end, I’m looking for a new co-host and Daffy is eulogizing Casey Kasem.  It’s a silly show that is bound to be under-rated by some listeners.

The show is embedded after the jump.  Hope you like it.
