A-List: Megan Fox

Megan Fox Launches Avon Foundation #SeeTheSigns Of Domestic Violence Campaign In the What the Hell Happened series, I take the long view of an actor or actress’ career.  That series explores whether or not an actor or actress ever reached the A-list.  If not, why not?  If so, what happened?  There is a full career arc from unknown to household name to What the Hell Happened subject.  In this series, which I am simply calling A-list, my focus is not on what happened but on what is happening right now and what may happen in the future.  Sure, that’s going to involve looking back on what brought us to this point.  But the focus is primarily on the now.  My subjects will be actors or actresses whose status has recently shifted up or down.  Some of them may be A-listers who have suffered a set-back.  Others may be A-list hopefuls. Poll: Which object of nostalgia would you like to see on the big screen next?

Ninja Turtles

This past weekend, the Michael Bay-produced reboot of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles defied expectations by dominating the box office.  Remember all the bad press this movie got when it was announced that they were going to be aliens instead of mutants?  Turns out, that didn’t matter.  The children of the 80’s just wanted to relive their glory days even if the movie had mostly negative reviews and poor word of mouth.  Nostalgia is a powerful thing.

Ever since Transformers became a world-wide blockbuster franchise, Hollywood has been on the look out for nostalgic properties to cash in on.  The Smurfs worked once.  Battleship, not so much.  GI Joe was somewhere in between.  Let’s help Hollywood pick the next old toy or cartoon we want to see on the big screen next.
